Pharm.D. To Be

About

Well, since I just started a new blog, I figured I should tell you a little about me. Even though most of you probably already know me, I maybe you will learn something new.The Past

I was born and raised in a small town, Coeburn, Virginia, nestled in the Appalachian Mountains of Southwest Virginia. A very small town mind you–Population 2800. In fact, there are just over 40,000 people in the county. I come from a family of four–My mother is a Realtor, my dad recently retired from the United States Postal Service, and I have one older brother who manages computer information systems for several auto auctions in VA and TN. During high school, I played baseball and football and managed to make decent grades with little effort. I later attended the University of Virginia’s College at Wise for three years prior to Pharmacy School.

The Present

I am happily married to the love of my life, Amanda, who is originally from Nashville, TN (How did we meet? Well, that’s a story for another day). I am currently enrolled at the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy and reside in Lexington. I am almost finished with the pharmacy curriculum and will soon be Dr. Dustin Salyer, PharmD.

The Future

After graduation, Amanda and I plan to move back toward her home in Nashville and I hope to be licensed in Tennessee and Kentucky and practice in both states.

For Fun

Well, I am pretty boring these days. With school and marriage, I honestly don’t have a whole lot of time for fun. I used to enjoy hunting, fishing, and anything else outdoors, although I rarely do any of these anymore. I guess I had all my fun in my younger years. I have always found pleasure in somewhat less popular activities: shooting pool, ping-pong, darts, and any kind of cards…oh yeah, and Dominoes. I listen to any kind of music (although I prefer classic rock) and enjoy watching any good movie.

Well, I guess that’s it folks…hopefully you will learn more through my Blogs. Feel free to ask me anything else you might want to know.
